Thanks for visiting the CCCTC drafting site, please take a few minutes and have a look around. If you decide to sign up for the class one of the first things you will notice is that it is a lot different than what you are use to at school. I give you the tools that enable you to create, design and build fun and exciting projects. The class is very much about preparing you for a career in architecture, engineering, design or drafting but it is also about unlocking your creative side and giving you a chance to think for yourself. Finally, if you or your parents are concerned that you will not be able to get into a good college if you go the CCCTC you don't need to worry. The majority of my students go on to college after graduating from the class. I have many graduates that have went on to earn Masters, Bachelors, or Associate degrees and they have all told me that they were glad they started here at the CCCTC. The students wanted to do something that represented the true meaning of christmas for the door decorating contest this year. Both the AM and PM class worked on the project. They did an awesome job.

Pillar Options for New Welcome to Clearfield Sign

Architectural Drafting students at the CCCTC provide the Clearfield Women's Club with (3) brick pillar options to compliment a proposed Welcome to Clearfield sign.

Project based AutoCad Video Tutorials

Clearfield County Career and Technology students can now watch AutoCad training videos online. It is often difficult for many students to successfully understand concepts after seeing only one demonstration. Students are also able to download full versions of AutoCad, along with many other Autodesk software titles at home. These two opportunities make it easy for students to practice difficult concepts. To see the lessons available to students just click on the link titled "Architectural Drafting Curriculum" at the top right of the page.

Kitchen/Dining for Flip That House Project

CCCTC drafting student Tyler Crock designs a new Kitchen and Dining room for the Flip that House project. Tyler used AutoCad to create construction drawings for the project and used Autodesk Revit to create visualization drawings.

Students Design Office Suite for CASD Option 1

Architectural Drafting students George and J.D. have been working on a design for an administrative office suite at Clearfield Area School District. The project has been an opportunity for students to apply their skills and knowledge to a real world project.

10 Reasons to Sign Up For Architectural Drafting at the CCCTC

1. You get over $50,000 worth of free CAD and Animation software for your home computer.

2. You get to go on field trips to Fallingwater, Kentuck Knob and many places in Pittsburgh including: PNC Park, Station Square Mall, Mount Washington, Cathedral of Learning, Downtown and Primanti Bros.

3. You can earn up to 25 college credits while taking the class - saving several thousand dollars!

4. You have the chance to work on design projects that are real and you can actually see them get built.

5. If you are planning on going to college for Architecture, Engineering or Design you will be a few steps ahead of the other students. You will probably be able to get out of a few classes too.

6. If you don't want to go on to college there are several different types of drafting related jobs you will be prepared for after you graduate. Several past graduates are working at their dream jobs at Architectural firms with just the education they recieved at the CCCTC.

7. Even in the recession there are still a lot of opportunities for drafting or engineering related jobs.

8. Your drafting teacher has over 10,000 hours of real world experience designing hospitals, schools, prisons, carwashes, boilers, houses and hundreds more. He also has a degree in engineering from Penn State.

9. The class is very laid back and fun - you learn things by doing them.

10. You get to learn about a lot more than just drafting - Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, Masonry, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Video Editing and much more.

Clearfield County Career and Technology student Allan Shimmel designs new stage for the Clearfield Fair! Allan had the opportunity to work with clients, code enforcement and the contractors as he designed the stage. Check out the pictures of the design and finished project!
